OPEN HOUSE - Paoli Pedestrian/Bicycle Feasibility Study - March 24, 2010, 4-8 pm at Delaware Valley Friends School (19 E. Central Ave. Paoli, PA 19301)
Tredyffrin Township is kicking off a study to improve walking and bicycling in Paoli and to examine how to connect Paoli to the Chester Valley Trail. Stop in any time between 4:00 and 8:00 pm at the Delaware Valley Friends School to view project materials and provide input. A brief presentation will be made at 4:15pm and repeated at 5:15 pm, 6:15 pm, and 7:15 pm.

Code Enforcement
Fire Marshals Office reminds all residents that Daylight Savings Time begins March 14. Turn clocks ahead 1 hour and replace the batteries in all SMOKE DETECTORS and CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS at this time. ALL residential properties are required to have Carbon Monoxide detectors along with Smoke Detectors. If you have a question as to the placement of these detectors contact your local municipality Code/Building Enforcement office (link above).

2010 Census
Census forms have been delivered to every residence in the United States in early March. When you receive yours, fill out the questionnaire and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided.
The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years. The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things like hospitals, job training centers, schools, senior centers, bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects and emergency services.

Sidewalk Subcommittee
On February 22, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved a motion creating a joint subcommittee of the Board, Planning Commission and Sidewalks, Trails and Paths (STAP) Committee to re-examine where the community wants and needs sidewalks, with a goal of adopting more formal policies and procedures relative to design, development and construction of sidewalks and paths in the Township. The three bodies are selecting members. The subcommittee will be on the March 15th agenda of the Board of Supervisors, and the members will be announced at that time.

Patriots Path
The Board of Supervisors adopted the Patriots Path Plan on February 22, 2010. The final adopted plan (with the revisions) can be viewed by clicking the link above.

Sidewalks Project
Tredyffrin Township has been awarded a $2.8 million federal grant for the sidewalk project around Conestoga High School and T/E Middle School. Construction will start on March 16, 2010.

Special Needs Emergency Management
The Township's Emergency Management Office constantly updates its list of residents who would need assistance in the event of an emergency. The Township also forwards this information onto Chester County, so that they may have complete information for Premise Program and the Reverse 9-1-1 Program.

Paoli Transportation Center
Amtrak has selected a developer for the rail yard. Tredyffrin soon will begin work on a pedestrian plan and a feasibility stdy for the Rt. 252/30 intersection.

511PA provides free, 24-hour information service including traffic delay warnings, weather forecast, regional tourism information, and links to transit agencies and major airports. The service is available by calling 511 from cellular phones and landlines or through thee internet by visiting www.511PA.com.

Tredyffrin Township publishes its news in a variety of ways, including the website. News is also publicized in the Township newsletter, which is mailed to residents twice a year; the Township monthly e-newsletter; the Public Access Channel, Comcast Channel 2 & Verizon Channel 24; flyers posted at the Township Building, Tredyffrin Library and Paoli Library; and in the local newspapers: Daily Local News and Main Line Suburban Life.
