Mosquito Spraying Set for Tredyffrin Township (Press Release)

Weather permitting, the Chester County Health Department will apply a mosquito control treatment between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on the evening of Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in Tredyffrin Township. The area to be treated will be bordered by Route 76 to the north, Route 202 to the south, Valley Forge Road to the west, and Route 422 to the east. In the event of a weather delay, the application will be conducted on Friday, September 3, 2010.

The treatment will be administered with truck mounted equipment to spray the target area of the Township. The equipment dispenses Permanone RTU, a permethrin insecticide product, at a rate of 1.5 ounces per acre. It is recommended that residents stay indoors and close windows during treatment and for approximately one hour after spraying is complete.

Warning Message from the Chester County Fire Chiefs Association

The Chester County Fire Chiefs Association wants the public to be aware that they may receive telephone or mail solicitations that seem to be from area Fire Companies or the Disabled Firefighters Association. According to past experience, these organizations are fraudulently representing local fire fighters and keep most of the money they raise for themselves with very little going to any fire fighters. The Chiefs want residents to know that if they are interested in supporting their local companies, solicitations from them will come by mail, not telephone calls. Also, please report any solicitations of this kind to your local police or fire department.
