How do I get to the Township Building?
The Tredyffrin Township Municipal Complex is located at 1100 DuPortail Road, Berwyn. Go to Directions.
Does the Township provide trash hauling?
No. Private haulers pick up trash and recyclables in the Township. A resident can choose from any of the
haulers that operate in the Township.
Does the Township require residents and businesses to recycle?
Yes. The Township requires residents to recycle newspaper, glass, aluminum, and leaves. Businesses are required to
recycle office paper, cardboard, aluminum and leaves. Haulers may collect additional recyclable materials or may
substitute one item for another, if there is not much demand. Go to Trash & Recycling.
Does the Township provide leaf pick up?
No. The Township asks property owners, where possible, to compost leaves on their property. Your trash hauler will
typically designate specific dates that they will pick up leaves. Tredyffrin Township does have a compost site for
residents to drop off leaves. It is open for specified period of time in the spring and fall.

Is there a place in the Township for disposal of large items, such as furniture, old computers, appliances, etc.?
No. Contact the Chester County Health Department, Division of Solid Waste Management at (610) 344-6692.
Are water and sewer provided by the Township?
Tredyffrin Township does have public sewer; however AQUA PA provides water service. Go to Sewer Department.
Does specific building/construction, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, etc. work require a permit?
Most projects do require a permit. Check the Building & Construction page, or contact the Township's Building Inspections Department to determine whether or not you need a permit for your project. Contact them at permits@tredyffrin.org, (610) 408-3615.
Does the Township offer any recreational activities and/or summer camps for children?

Agendas for the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, Environmental Advisory Council and Park & Recreation Board are available on the Township website. Is there a local income tax in Tredyffrin Township?
No, however there is a local services tax of $52 per year. Go to Finance.
May I receive a tax or sewer certification for closing, refinancing, etc.?
Contact the Tax Department: propertytax@tredyffrin.org or the Sewer Revenue Department: sewer@tredyffrin.org. Certifications cost $15.
Who is responsible for road maintenance?
Tredyffrin Township is responsible for maintaining Township-owned roads and PennDOT is responsible for maintaining state roads. Go to Public Works Department.
Which fire company covers my neighborhood?
Three fire companies, Berwyn, Paoli and Radnor Fire Companies cover Tredyffrin Township. Refer to map to for coverage boundaries. Go to Emergency Management/Fire & Emergency Coverages.
Can I reserve a meeting room at the Township building?
The Township offers two meeting rooms for public use free of charge: Keene Hall, which seats about 100 and the Community Meeting Room, which seats about 35. These rooms are available to nonprofit and community groups in Tredyffrin Township on a first-come, first-serve basis, although Township events have priority. A handheld microphone is available for use in Keene Hall; all other equipment is to be provided by the group signing out the facility.
Reservations can be made by calling (610) 408-3603 or emailing meetingroom@tredyffrin.org. No reservations will be accepted until Township meeting dates have been approved at the first Board of Supervisors' meeting of the year.

Can I pay my school taxes and Township taxes in the same place?
No. Township taxes go to the Tredyffrin Township Building at 1100 DuPortail Road, Berwyn, and school taxes go to the Education Services Center, 738 First Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312-1779, (610) 240-1900.
