Residential/Business Alarm Policy
Residential Alarms
If you move into a home where there is an alarm system installed, or would like to have an alarm system installed in your home, you are required to register your alarm with Tredyffrin Township. To register, complete the Alarm Permit Registration Form and pay a one-time $25 registration fee. If you are over 65 the permit fee is waived; however, you still must submit the Alarm Permit Registration Form.
Business Alarms
Businesses located in Tredyffrin Township that have alarm systems must register with the Township. To register, complete the Alarm Permit Registration Form, Emergency Contact Card, and pay a one-time $25 registration fee. This one-time charge will cover your business as long as the business remains in Tredyffrin Township. If your business billing address is different from your office address, please note this on the application form.

False Alarm Activations Policy
Tredyffrin Township has the following rules and procedures for false alarm activations:
Residential
- You are allowed one false alarm per calendar year at no charge
- Subsequent false alarms will be charged according to the fee schedule approved by the Board of Supervisors. For a list of the fees, see below.
- After the 4th false alarm, the alarm user will be required to attend a Township-sponsored false alarm awareness program.
Business
- You are allowed two false alarm per calendar year at no charge
- Subsequent false alarms will be charged according to the fee schedule approved by the Board of Supervisors. For a list of the fees, see below.
- After the 4th false alarm, the alarm user will be required to attend a Township-sponsored false alarm awareness program.
False alarms committed by users without a permit from Tredyffrin Township are subject to fines two times, as set by resolution in Chapter 68, Sec. 13. A(1)
Bills must be paid within 30 days of receipt. If payment is not received, a second bill will be sent. If payment is not received within 90 days of the original billing, youwill receive a citation for non-payment of alarm charges, which can result in fines of up to $1000.
